“I have a question.”
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Can I have more than one pet/animal in my portrait?
Absolutely! Please keep in mind that this will extend the average delivery schedule approximately one week per additional animal, plus additional fee. I do suggest that you have a maximum of two animals per 20 x 16 canvas. They do not need to be in the same photo together.
Can I request a revision after reviewing the proof?
Of course! Your satisfaction is the most important thing in my commissions and I will accommodate two revisions to final artwork before finalizing and printing.
Are my photos satisfactory?
Please be sure to follow the photo guidelines to ensure the best quality commission. If you have one photo with a good pose and good lighting but the ear is cropped, simply include another photo with ears intact. I can make it work!
Can I choose the background color?
Definitely! It’s understandable that the customer not only wants a beautiful portrait, but also want to compliment their home decor. If you are giving as a gift and are unsure, I will choose a color that compliments the fur. Unless requested, pet portraits will have a one color background. Complex backgrounds will extend delivery time.
How is the process different for wildlife commissions vs pet portraits?
Pet portraits are created from your personal photos in a photo realism style. Wildlife commissions are essentially a combination of your vision and the animal you love. I can work with you on your perfect commission. If you have a wildlife/nature photo that you have taken (and own the rights to) and would like it turned into a portrait, that works as well.
Can I change or cancel my order?
I accept changes at any time prior to sending you the final proof. Two (2) revisions are allowed after review of the final proof. If it is a case where you request a completely different commission, please note that this will extend the standard delivery schedule. I accept full cancellations within 24 hours of the order receipt.
Do you accept returns/refunds?
Please see our Refund and Return Policy here..
Do you offer other pet portrait art styles?
I do not. There are many talented artists that offer cartoon/watercolor etc. I strictly offer photo realism portraits. I reserve the right to make subtle corrections (eye crust, drool, leash leads, etc). You will receive a proof for review and approval.
What print options are available for my commission?
There are three different material options and several size options available. Please see our Size and Product Guide for more information.
What is the commission completion/delivery schedule?
Commissions may require a different time frame depending on the complexity/number of subjects. I generally allow myself 10 days to complete your commission and provide a proof for your approval. If you have a specific deadline, please contact me to confirm availability of time. Holidays generally book quickly, so confirm your commission well in advance if you can. Please visit here for the average one subject timeline.
What if I only want the digital file of my commission?
Sorry, I do not provide the digital file to clients. I did this one time as a favor for a client because they lived in another country and shipping was very expensive. Then I saw my artwork for sale on Etsy and RedBubble. Hopefully you understand why I cannot offer this option.
Can you provide a frame for the Giclee Prints?
Definitely! Custom handcrafted frames and professional mounting are available at cost in a wide range of styles. I can provide a quote to you if you opt for this service.
What is your shipping policy?
All commission pricing includes standard shipping to the United States (2-7 days). Expedited is available for $19.99 and Expedited with Signature for $21.99 (both are 1-2 business days). To get your order to you quicker, I have it sent directly to you from my print partner in Missouri.
Can I request a commission on something other than pets or wildlife?
Yes! Aside from humans, I welcome all art commission requests and I love painting most subjects. You can see a commission I did on my Testimonial Page.
